Coo on Weekend - 週末のクー

After being squeezed in my arm on Saturday morning, Coo disappeared soundlessly and then was found to be sleeping deeply on his favorite chair.

土曜日の朝、私の腕のなかでムニュっとなったクーは、音もなくいなくなったと思ったら、お気に入りの椅子の上で熟睡していた。

Coo had a good midday nap after playing just a little bit around lunch time. You may think he should be wakeful during night, but again he is sleeping nicely in our bed.

そしてお昼時にちょっと遊んで、午後には本格的なお昼寝。じゃあ、よるはお目々パッチリかというと、ちゃんと我々のベッドで寝ている。

And Coo was sleeping so deep today under the warm sun shine. Great!

At a Sunny Spot - 陽だまりの中で

It is very nice to see my cat going into sleep at a sunny spot.  Really relaxing.

We reseated a dining chair becaseu Coo scratched it out. It was rather easy.

Coo Sleeping Deeply - ぐっすりクー

Coo was sleeping so deeply putting his nose into his tail.  It is very hard to tell where his eyes are located.

Twisted Coo - ねじれたクー

Coo got excited when we brought back all kinds of bags from shopping at Wrentham Outlets. He sniffed aroung several bags and went into a big plastic bag of Polo Ralph Lauren.

今日はレンサムのアウトレット（Wrentham Outlets）に買い物に行った。いろいろな種類の袋を持って帰るとクーは大喜び。いくつか袋を嗅ぎまわり、ポロ・ラルフ・ローレンの大きな袋の中に入った。

Today I bought some souvenirs for my short trip to Japan in September and packed a big suitcase with them. Coo disturbed all
the processes and finally crashed out by the suitcase keeping his body twisted!

今日は、来月の短い一時帰国のために少しお土産をそろえ、大きなスーツケースにつめてみた。クーは、その一部始終を徹底的に邪魔をし、最後にはスーツケースの横で寝てしまった。身体がねじれたまま。

Coo 3.7 kg (7 Months Old)

Coo is 3.7 kg today (7 months old).

Coo weighed less than 1 kg when he joined our family on February 13, 2010 (2 months old), about 2 kg on April 3 (4 months old) and 3 kg on May 9 (5 months old).

Although it seems his grwoth rate has been lowered, he will be at least 7-9 kg, and which could take up to 4-5 years.

Coo loves a trash bag.

The Metamorphosis

The metamorphosis - Coo into Nautilus beside computer keyboard! However, it seems he does not like water - we tried bath today in vain.

Mouse vs. Paper

I bought this toy mouse for Coo when we had decided to have a cat at home and before we saw even Coo's photos, of couse assuming Coo would love them. However, he does not like them at all even they have a bell at the end of the tail; instead he loves cheapest balls made of recicle paper or plastic bag. Go green!

How about this Starbucks cup? You can buy this only at the first Starbuck store in Seattle's Pike Mlace Market, opened in 1971. Design of the lower body of Siren is slightly different from current logo.

Sleeping, sleeping, sleeping. I like to see this face. A little bit pitiful, but even the lion has this face. He is a small lion?

Coo: Don't Disturb My Sleep

I like vellicative cat ears. However, Coo would say "don't disturb my sleep, please leave me alone."

We had bought this bed for Coo last year, several months before he came to this house. However, he has "never" slept in this bed, but in our bed on the pillow of my wife. But today he slept in the bed for the first time, ... but only for several minutes. Good start!

Coo the Siberian Enjoying Deep Sleep under the Sun

It is so good to stay inside under the warm sunshine on Saturday morning when it is below freezing point outside. If Coo is full and there are suntraps, he can do nothing but sleep. It looks lile a symbol of peace and ease of mind.

Coo Has Debuted on YouTube #1

Coo has debuted on YouTube! If you search by "Coo Siberian", you will find all other Coo's videos. Coo is a male Siberian forest cat boan on December 13, 2009. He was about 3 months old when this video was taken.

Coo in deep sleep. His body is stretched out with his stomach up and down. When I received a little irritated email from my colleagues at work, I gave her a link to this video. She replyed with thanks message telling the video has relaxation power!

Coo - First Vet

クーちゃんが我家にやってきて早や２週間になる。只今生後１１週。少し大きくなったかもしれないが、体重はまだ１キロちょっと。

先週初めてツメを切った。インターネットの記事やYouTubeのビデオで勉強したが、初めてなので恐る恐る。人間もネコも緊張した。子ネコなので、切るのは先端の１ミリ程度。

天気がいいと日向が気持ち良さそう。

先週はお風呂にも入れた。お風呂といっても洗面所にお湯をはっただけ。両手両足を広げていやがるので、ちょっとお湯につけただけ。ぬれると本当に小さくなる。あとはバスタオルでごしごし。乾くとまたフワフワのネコに変身する。是非お風呂好きのネコに育って欲しい。

昨日、初めて獣医のところに予防接種と診察に出かけた。隣町のウーバン（Woburn）にあるAdams Animal Clinic。友人のイヌの掛かりつけの病院。ネットでの評判も上々。

先週買った新しいキャリング・ケースに入れられて、かなり緊張気味のクーちゃん。家の外に出るのも初めてなら、待合室にいた他の動物を見るのも初めて。

この動物病院はこじんまりとした農家のような建物を使っている。数人の獣医がいるようだが、昨日はDr. O'Neil（女性）が診察してくれた。

予防接種をして、聴診・触診。注射をされても泣かなかった。えらい。緊張し過ぎて反応できなかったのかもしれない。検便の結果は月曜に電話で。少し目やにが出ていたので、抗生物質の入った目薬をもらって帰った。

Dr. O'Neilが、予防注射の後は一日静かかもしれないと言っていたが、その通り、昨日から今日にかけてクーは本当によく寝た。身体も少し熱があるようであったかい。かわいそう。でも、まあ右の写真のような状態で、それほど深刻というわけではない。

クーちゃんは食が細いようなのでDr. O'Neilに相談したところ、IAMSの子ネコ用のキャット・フードを薦められた。さっそく近所のペットショップで買ってきた。確かに食べる。ちょっと安心した。

クーちゃんが野菜（特にアスパラ）好きだということも発見した。

今日の午後からは復活して遊び始めた。私のサンダルはクーの（クーだけの）お気に入りの遊び場。

アレルギーの心配もあるし、ネコは寝室には入れないという前提で買い始めた。最初の２日は次女がソファーで一緒に寝た。３日目は、次女が大学に帰ったので一人で寝た。４日目はかわいそうなので、我々のベッドで寝た。それ以来、クーちゃんは我々のベッドで寝ている。こうなるような予感はあった。

Coo Has Joind Us!

待ちに待ったクーちゃんがとうとう我家にやって来た！

クーちゃんは１２月１３日生まれ、今日（２月１３日）で生後約９週になる。ようやく乳離れができる時期なので、ニューヨークのブリーダーのところまで妻と二人で迎えに行った。

年末に、マサチューセッツ州内および隣接するいくつかの州（ニューヨーク、コネチカット、バーモント）のブリーダーにメールを書いてサイベリアン・フォーレスト・キャットが手に入るかどうかを問い合わせた結果、ようやくこのニューヨーク州のブリーダー（Ablaze Sunbeam Siberians）で生まれて１８日目の子ネコが見つかった。


クーちゃんは、残された最後の２匹のうちの１匹。大きくて活発そうな方を選んだ（上の写真、好奇心と字が書いてあるようだ）。実は、Jiroという茶色の活発なネコとJayceeというシルバーのやや大人しい２匹から選ぶはずだったのだが、私達より優先権を持つ人が引き取りに来た際、もともと引き取るはずだったシルバーのJasperがなつかず、Jiroがゴロゴロ寄ってきたということでJiroを連れて帰った（こういう出会いを運命的だと思うアメリカ人が多いようだが（私の部下によるとネコが飼い主を選ぶらしい）、私は一時的な偶然だと思う）。従って、私達は共にシルバーのJayceeとJasperから、より活発そうなJasperを選んだ（ブリーダーの家を出た直後にクーちゃん（Coo）に変名！）。

最初はStephenがクーちゃんになるはずだったのが、JayceeかJiroになり、最終的にJasperになるなんて、二転三転、こういうのを運命的な出会いというのです（記事１、記事２、記事３）。

ということで、クーちゃんはシルバーのトラのハンサムな９９０グラムの雄ネコ（下の写真でリモコンと比較すると大きさが分かるかも）。サイベリアン・フォーレスト・キャットはアレルギーが出にくい種類と言われている。今のところ家族全員、ほとんどアレルギー反応は出ていないようだ。

ニューヨークのブリーダーのところまではちょうど２００マイル、３時間弱のドライブ。帰りは、クーちゃんをケージに入れて運んだのだが、一人になるのは嫌いらしく、常にケージに手を入れてかまっていないとみゃーみゃーとすごい主張をする（先が思いやられる）。

帰り道に大学に寄って次女をピックアップ。始めてのことばかりで、私達も疲れたが、クーちゃんも疲れて昨夜は次女と寝たようだ。

カリフォルニアにいる長女とはスカイプでご対面。長女は、クーに会いに春休みに帰って来るようだ。
